Bambini Creativi was intentionally designed to provoke interest, raise questions, and motivate intrinsic learning. The interior and exterior spaces of Bambini Creativi are organized to foster interaction, autonomy, curiosity, exploration, communication, and relationships. When you walk in the door, you are immediately inspired to wonder. The architecture dialogues with the educational project; natural light funnels in and castes interesting shadows and rainbows from reflecting prisms. You hear moving water from the fountain and singing parakeet birds. The colorful walls are a perfect compliment to the modern European styling and design. At Bambini Creativi the environment interacts with the children, and is modified by their learning experiences. The school is furnished with PLAY+ furniture throughout. PLAY+ of Reggio Emilia designed each product in collaboration with 28 international designers, ZPZ Partners, and the guidance of Reggio Children.
One key feature of the schools in Reggio Emilia is their atelier spaces. An atelier is a laboratory or working studio that gives value to the expressive potentials and creativity of each individual. Ateliers are furnished with a variety of materials and emphasize the importance of imagination, aesthetics, expression, interpretation, and the theory of the
Hundred Languages. Bambini Creativi offers several unique
atelier experiences for children to lead experiments and research throughout the school. The facility features a
Giardino Inverno (Indoor Garden and Nature Atelier),
Atelier D’Acqua (Water Exploration Room),
Atelier Di Cibo (Food Laboratory),
Atelier (Art Studio),
Piazza (Social & Dining Hall), and an impressive
Parco Gioci (1.5 acre Nature Play Yard).
