What drives us to do what we do at Bambini Creativi? We do what we do because we trust. We have confidence in the beauty and the uniqueness of the human person, the community, and in our children. Today, when the zeigiest (the spirit of the times, the mood of the era) tells us the difference is a problem, our society can choose between two types of relationships: bonding or bridging. We can stay within the group of creating bonds that knit the group together, reinforcing a sense of belonging. Or we can stimulate openness to the other, to the different hereby gaining knowledge and stimulating curiosity toward the others along a path of enrichment and positive change. This is the bridging approach, a multi-connection, which multiplies knowledge. We all know that mothers and fathers from different countries have the same fears, the same worries, the same hopes concerning their children.

The key to our future of our children and our community lies in the attention to the multiple intelligences, the openness to new understandings, and the intercultural coexistence. The cultural experience we wish for our children is one that states that the other is not a problem, but an opportunity for ethical responsibility and compassion. Ethical responsibility establishes fundamental rights in a democracy based on principles of equality, solidarity, and freedom. When we live by shared rules, then we are able to respect living together. The more this becomes common culture, the more we realize that we are all on a journey together.
