Movement Specialist

Ciao Amici and Bambini family!

My name is Tabatha, and I’m so happy to return as the Movement Specialist this year! My son Cove and I joined the Bambini family in 2018, and from the moment I toured the school, I knew it was the right place for both of us. This community welcomed us with open arms, helped us put down roots in a new city, and has given us lifelong friends.

Mama is my favorite and most important role. I’m proud to be Cove’s mom as he enters his fifth grade year in the Cercativi class. My 5 years of  teaching movement at Bambini have been taught me so much. The Reggio Amelia philosophy combined with conscious discipline and leading with positive intent, have truly made me a better parent and leader in many roles. These skills enriched my knowledge and understanding of childhood development and the art of conversation. This gave me the courage to homeschool during the pandemic. However, my son and I both missed and needed this community. So, in 2022, we joyfully returned to our home away from home, Bambini Creativi. I feel blessed to be both a parent and teacher here.

My second love is yoga. I’m a certified yoga teacher and I’ve studied mindfulness and meditation around the world. Movement, health, wellness and music are my passions, and I love creating experiences that help people heal, connect, and feel their best. I believe it’s important to fill our own cup first, so then we can give fully to others. So here’s your reminder parents to take care of you too! My daily practice of yoga or meditation has given me the gift of presence, courage, resilience, and grace. These lessons I’m excited to share with our amici through connection, curiosity and self-discovery.

Outside of school, I enjoy traveling with my family, attending yoga retreats, and I’m currently looking forward to starting DJ classes! I’ve also been a hairstylist for 20 years. I spent the first part of my career in Los Angeles and then we moved back to KC to be near family . Exploring new passions and experiences keeps me inspired, and I love bringing that energy back to our classroom.

It’s an honor to witness the spirit and open-mindedness of children. While I’m proud to be a teacher, I’m also a lifelong learner. Here’s to another year of growing, moving, and learning together—one breath, one step, and one day at a time.

Namaste!
